Caroline Gilleran Stephens
I lecture in Biotechnology at Dundalk Institute of Technology. I’ve been fascinated by science ever since I got a microscope for my 8th birthday. I am involved in several science outreach initiatives including Cell Explorers and H2O Heroes.
I am a PhD student investigating impacts of storms on lakes bacteria. I believe that Science is fun to do and also to listen to, even more with a beer (only for the 2nd statement). So let’s bring out the knowledge and have good craic at the pub!
I have a B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences and a M.Sc. in Fisheries Management and Aquaculture. I have also obtained my Ph.D. in Biodiversity and Natural resources. My field of expertise is fisheries management systems and VMEs.
My passion is connecting people. I am half Librarian, half Community Worker, half traveller, half…. I love supporting people in anything related to knowledge and learning.
MARIA CALDERO PASCUAL
I am a PhD student at Dundalk Institute of Technology, originally from Catalonia, and am interested in studying how to mitigate environment pollution and preserve aquatic ecosystems. I am studying nutrient dynamics in a lake catchment in Co. Mayo.
I hold a degree in Food Science and Food Technology from DIT/Trinity College and aPhD in Agriculture from UCD. I love talking about science and helping others to learn about it. I’m looking forward to being part of pint of science in Dundalk.
I’m a research fellow, interested in all things digital health and the application of novel technologies in rehabilitation, healthcare and clinical trials. I am delighted to help bring PoS to Dundalk for the first time.
I received my B.Sc. in Physics and also a Research M.Sc. on Stellar Remnants at DCU. I was awarded a Marie Curie Ph.D. scholarship under the ESA's cornerstone Gaia mission. I currently teach Physics/Maths at DkIT and continue with Gaia research.
I am a science lecturer at Dundalk Institute of Technology and I’ve been involved in a range of science outreach events. I’m an active member of drama and musical societies and am passionate about using creativity to teach science.
