The Gig is Up? Employment Law and the Platform Economy

This talk looks at how people who work in the gig economy are currently protected under employment law in Ireland. Do platform workers have any rights to minimum wages, holidays and holiday pay, and other employment protections that are taken for granted by workers in the ‘traditional economy? Are platform workers ‘employees’ at all for the purposes of employment law?
