The Longer I Scroll The Worse It Gets: Young People and Recommended Content on Social Media

In this talk, I plan to speak about the workings of recommender systems and their role in suggesting content to young users on social media. Additionally, I will share insights from five focus groups conducted with Irish secondary school students, shedding light on their experiences as young users of these systems across various social media platforms.
