Bringing Extinct Plants Back to Life
Will Matthaeus
(Post-doctoral Research Fellow, TCD)
Plants have covered much of the land for over 400 million years. Angiosperms have only dominated for 60 million years. For much of this time, plants and ecosystems on lands were alien. I use measurements from plant fossils and modeling to re-animate alien plants to understand what their ecosystems were like.

Grace Nolan

Do the Irish public know what biodiversity means? Can they identify what wildlife and plants should and shouldn’t be in Ireland? This talk will explore these questions and propose a new way of collecting this data – through video games.
