Exploring Predictors of Older Adults' Attitudes towards Face-to-face and Online Psychotherapy
Siofra McCrum (She/her)
(Postgraduate Researcher, Dundalk Institute of Technology)
My research examines predictors of older adults’ attitudes towards psychotherapy. Mixed-methods survey and interview data are analysed to understand their perceptions of in-person and online therapy.
Genomics of mental health
Niamh Ryan (She/her)
(Senior Research Fellow, Trinity College Dublin)
In Ireland mental health stigma prevents many people from seeking treatment. Like physical illnesses, mental health is affected by both genes and environment. I study the genetics of mental illness to improve diagnosis and treatments.
Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: opportunities and challenges
Asifa Qureshi (She/her)
(Postgraduate Student, Dundalk Institute of technology)
Nowadays, a large number of user data is being collected using smart devices. This data can be used to build intelligent medical applications that can help in the diagnosis and monitoring of patients, thus reducing the burden on the healthcare industry. Therefore, I am focusing on data generation to preserve user privacy for AI-enabled medical devices.
