Programmers Are People Too!
Jim Buckley
(Professor, University of Limerick)
We put an awful lot of effort into developing and evaluating aesthetic-and-effective front-ends for our software systems (typically referred to as UX or user experience). But we often neglect very obvious cohorts of users. Programmers use software tools intensively to help them develop and evolve the software systems they develop, and this talk will discuss some of the work we have done in Lero/CSIS@UL towards identifying their information needs and how software tools might address them.
Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging: Risks and Benefits
Finn Krewer
(Research Fellow, University of Galway)
AI software is used to help doctors to read X-Rays, CTs and MRIs. But sometimes these AI don't perform as well as they should. We are analysing the evidence of how effective different AI systems are.
