From lawn mowing to match stats, explore how climate change, water quality, and smart data shape everyday life in Ireland—revealing hidden challenges, smarter decisions, and what the future might demand of us all.
Rain Doubt: Impact of future climate on lawn mowing
Remember Roger Adjei
(PhD Researcher)
This talk will focus on the compilation of climate projections and utilise crop modelling methodologies from DkIT and Teagasc to investigate how our lawns (and fields) will grow, and how difficult they may be to cut, in the future, depending on different climate change scenarios. The talk will relate important Irish agricultural adaptation research to everyday tasks to emphasise the likely impacts and solutions.
The Fridge Is Full, But Dinner Is Past Its Best
Sarpong Hammond Antwi
( Research Fellow )
Ireland has loads of water. So why is some of it in trouble? Imagine a holiday house with a fridge full of food, except half of it is past its best and the freezer is starting to fail. Oddly enough, that is one way to understand water quality in Ireland. Come for expired yoghurt, stay for rivers, governance, pollution, and the possibility that climate change is basically a broken freezer.

Patrizia De Camilla
(PhD Student)
Sports data is overwhelming. What if you could just ask for what you need? This talk explores conversational search systems that cut mental load, helping fans and pros navigate complex data through simple, natural dialogue.
