Art as a Teaching Tool for Critical Thinking

Visual Thinking Strategies is an evidence based programme designed to teach critical thinking to Medical, Nursing and allied health students. By deliberate slow looking at an art image, participants develop an understanding about how we think, how we link speculation to evidence, and how we work as a team in medical practice.
Humans and Drugs from Pre-History to Today
Pat Leahy (Lecturer in Applied Social Sciences, UCC)
Pat Leahy will discuss our relationship with psychoactive substances, right through human history. From drug use in society to the impact of youth work on young people's lives, he will take us on a journey through time and society.
